TERRIBLE!

BTW: it looks similar to the Viking Serenade. Notice the squared forehead and stern.

Agreed Geno-r, "YUCK", in every sense of the word. It's horrid, unpleasant to the eye. If this was being rated on Food Network in one of those challenge shows done by a pastry chef. I think Kerrie Vincent would hurl if she had seen such a poorly put together ship. I have no idea what they had in mind when they came up with that ship. I think it needs some red don't you??

Why red? Not even the eight Fantasy Class ships full of the ugly balconies combined would look nearly as bad as this thing.

If a UFO crashed on top of this thing, it can become on of RCI's "INNOVATIVE" ships as well.

Not a clone yet.........IF successful she will only be the first.

Visually she doesn't look very stable - she may need a yacht like extending keel !

Perhaps the artist came up with these after the accident ?

As my eyes gazed upon the artist renderings for the first time....(choking on bile, here)....the words 'OMG' slipped out of my mouth as I giggled at the obsurdity of the design. Are they fracking kidding? lmao Looks like my nephew drew that when he was 9 years old. Excuse me while I go throw up.

The first rendering is certainly a 'full frontal' shot and does little to desguise the shocking truth of the design.

NCL’s CEO Colin Veitch is quoted as saying : “…they (the F3’s) may not end up as the most beautiful ships on the outside. Our goal is to build the best, most innovative ship, not the prettiest to watch sail by.”

I can't argue with him about the ships apperance. She will make 'Pride of American' look like a Beauty Queen! In fact this MUST be the ugliest cruise ship ever built from scratch.

I still have high hopes for her interiors.

I know HMS Bonaventure and who he works for, I can tell you that he is NOT paid by NCL and (to the best of my knowledge) gains nothing by posting his opinion - except to what express he feels.

There are many of us on here who work/ have worked in the industry (whether cruise or travelin general) and post our opinions here. While it sure helps if they agree w/ the vision our company (and teh forum) has; however, if they don't that - that is OK too (depending upon our level of involvement at a corporate level of course).

Now - let this EPIC conversation continue - poor thing...it's not the ships fault it looks the way it does

I'm having Andy Stuart on my show this Thursday and one of the topics will be about the F3 Norwegian Epic and the features on it. I might have to have some fun with him and ask him about the strange design and how they came up with it.

I'm going to tell you the truth behind this press release: In fact, this is an unvoluntary leak by a NCL's employee who made a big mistake by revealing it now. Indeed, NCL first intented to make the press release next April 1st...

Now that this April fool is prematurely burnt, they will have to invent a new press release for next April 1st... perhaps, then they'll say they will renovate the BIG U for sure?

OK he's not payed by NCL, afcorse I believe you instantly. My opinion was based on his profile, and his post. And the way he defended this new vessel.

Hmm that would be the practical joke of the year. But I think this is what we will see entering port. And it's not a pretty sight.

Greetings Ben.

It seems it's the ugliest passenger ship ever built (I can think to one or two other horrors, but many would disagree with me on those ones)
I hoped that those famous changes (which caused all the trouble with the yard) included a slight improvement of the exterior design but this is obviously not the case...
Not very happy to see this built in my country (even if of course it saves jobs... so it's not a bad thing)

No one can every say Princess or Carnival ships are ugly again! This takes the cake. .yuck! Fugly is right. Another reason we steer our clients away from NCL.

I said paint it red for Geno-r's sake, we both loved Premier Cruise Line and miss those wonderful classics they had. But as far as I'm concerned, they could have used that money more wisely than to build this ship. If I were running the line, I would ask for a new design.

Behave, the serenade was a beauty compared to this.

You know that was my first thought, with those 3 level villas perched up there that will give her some horrific handling characteristics.

Villa guests will have to weigh under 200 pounds to book a cabin and will be asked to eat lightly!

To put it all into proportion, just imagine that she were to be named the MSC EPOPEA (Italian for epic) and all will become clear.

Those lines have come down from a set of ships called the MISTRAL, the EUROPEAN VISION and all the recent MSC ships that were built here (MSC OPERA and LIRICA excepted).

Box boxy boxy and now carbuncular as well.

France may have produced the NORMANDIE and the FRANCE but she has also produced some oddball ships. Remember all those square funnels with the big lips?

How are those two an exception?

Really this whole "family" started with the little PAUL GAUGUIN before graduating to the R ships, then MISTRAL, etc.

In 30 or so years when it is scrapped, I doubt there will be a word mentioned about preservation.
