Yesterday Cunarcoll;alias Jochen and I met in New York City. He has hosted me twice in Belgium and Holland. Now it was my turn to show him my former home town.

We had a great time discussing ships, photography, the great size of American SUV's and walked from Times Square where his hotel is down to Greenwich Village. We had lunch at the famed White Horse Tavern where Dylan Thomas drank himself to Death. White Horse has excellent British and American Pub Grub. Prices are reasonable, but portions small.

Then we treked to the East Village. St Marks Place which used to be the hipster area is sadly now yuppified.
Looking for maritime books we ended up at the famed Strand Book Store. The Strand and its staff are known to take the greatest pride in knowing that they are valiantly battling the worldwide, television-driven trend toward universal cultural homogenization.

Since 2004 I have met (in order of meeting):

desirod7
Onno
eroller
Frank X. Prudent
Midshipcentury
(before he was a CTer)
Tim in 'Lauderdale
Matts
ocngypz
sread
greybeard
TBirdFrank

I think that's it. (If you've met me and I forgot to list you, please forgive me - I didn't forget you, I just forgot you belonged to this site, and not another one .) It's always fun meeting people who I have 'known' often for years but never met!

Live from Vegas, after a beautiful drive from Long Beach and Moor Park in a red Beetle convertible.
We were on the Mary 1 for 4 days and she is still magical.

Lasuvidaboy took us around Hollywood and Malibu and then a wonderful dinner in WeHo. Today we visited Midshipcentury at the SS MoorPark and saw the beautiful artifacts he has rescued from ships.
It is my second time meeting Lasuvidaboy and third time meeting MidshipCentury.

I enjoyed cocktails and dinner with CT member avalon1025 in Ft. Lauderdale this last weekend. It's always fun meeting a member in person that you have interacted with virtually for years.

I usually post here in the event that some other Cruise Talker will be sailing on the same ship.
Came close to meeting Pascal in France, but he had to cancel our meeting in his home town.

Ernie came over to my partner's Bucks County home last night. We cooked up a wonderful Mexican dinner.
Later we partied at the Raven and Nevermore: local clubs. It was a wonderful evening.

You have had better luck and more interesting conversations than I in Wilton Manors; lots of talk of the Queens and Princesses all around me, but alas not those the float! Grant
