Few days ago Louis announced a change to their summer itinerary. Louis Cristal was supposed to do a series of 7-night cruises out of Piraeus, but now this week the itinerary got changed a bit. Cristal will now make a stop at Piraeus in the middle of these cruises. At the moment it seems like that both Cristal and Majesty will sail during the summer time from Piraeus. But if Louis Majesty really gets chartered the Cristal’s new itinerary change will make it very easy to transfer all Majesty’s bookings to Cristal. Louis also advised travel agents to wait for new information about fleet deployment for 2012 scheduled sailings.
This year is going to be a different year for Louis Cruises. They will only operate cruises out of Limassol and Piraeus. If Majesty now gets a chartered it will be interesting to see how Louis will deploy it’s fleet. Cristal will surely continue sailing from Piraeus, and my personal guess is that Louis will deploy Orient Queen to Piraeus to help out during the summer season. Coral might in this case do cruises from Limassol. Difficulties in Greece might have affected bookings for the Piraeus sailings, and it might be that Cristal will sail all the summer alone out of Piraeus, and Orient Queen will do sailings out of Limassol.
I hope that in couple of days we will hear more news from Louis and Thomson.
My thought is that perhaps they have come to some agreement with Louis to swap the charter of either Thomson Destiny or Spirit to Louis Majesty? That would leave Louis with a vessel for themselves for the 7 nighters?

This practically means that Louis Majesty will not be sailing for Louis in april as planned. What will happen after May is left to see...
At the moment it seems that the Orient Queen will sail out of Limassol from 1st of June until 1st of October.
It will be interesting to see how the summer season will be planned if Majesty wont be sailing for Louis.
Thomson Destiny will instead be transferred back to Louis Cruises. Destiny will be renamed Louis Olympia and will be sailing out of Piraeus from 11th of May.

The only advantage that I can think of is that Majesty is not as old, but Destiny is obviously good enough for Louis.

Overall, Thomson has a more spacious ship. While not a significant difference, I assume the accommodations on the Majesty is an upgrade over Destiny.
And on Louis' end, I'm sure they are able to get more money out of Thomson since they are chartering a slightly more modern ship from Louis.
