Crazy story but true. We used to worry about a drunk jumping from a balcony...now we've got to worry about them destroying the ship itself!

Seems a 44 year old intoxicated passenger onboard Ryndam entered a crew-only area, put on gloves, and managed to release the ship's aft anchor while sailing. Thankfully no damage...but it could have damaged the props or rudders. He's been arrested and faces 20 years in prison for endangering the lives of the passengers.

Shame he didn't get tangled in the anchor chain and got pulled down with it! What idiots some of these people are! What can they be thinking?

I think that areas like that have to be easilly accesible for ease of access for crew for safety reasons. In an emergency it is an area the crew will need to get to in a hurry as sometimes deploying an anchor is necesarry to stop the ship in a hurry like if they lose power and cant manouvere to stop.

Obviously they had to have known what they were doing and were more motivated by some sick twisted idea in their head rather than alcohol.
