Three Carnival ships, three RCI ships, a Celebrity and a Princess; and those are the ones we can see in the photo. Possibly another one or two off to the West (right.) And everyone tendering in to the same point!

The greed of some of these ports is really out of hand. I realize how much $$ these cruise ships bring to the economy, but there has to be a limit. Surely at some point it becomes a quality of life issue for the residents? Bermuda seems to get, but of course they are much more wealthy than most Caribbean islands. Grand Cayman though is also one of the more wealthy island nations. It's amazing the port authority of Grand Cayman approved so many ships in one day. Surely they don't have the infrastructure to handle it, and it could not have been a pleasant experience for the passengers either. To think all those passengers had to tender as well. For me it would have been a wonderful day, spent on the ship enjoying quiet time by the pool.

Can't imagine this being the normal, scheduled line-up. It must have been a nightmare even getting the ships turned around and safely out of port!

I'm just picturing the dock area which is pretty small, and pretty crowded and confusing with just three ships at anchor. It must have been a nightmare. Like I said, I would have stayed on the ship and personally preferred a day at sea. At some point (hurricane or not) the quality of a port experienced can be so diminished that it's just better to skip it.
This is indeed an amazing picture! I would stay onboard too.....Cayman is such a long tender ride, however; it does make for great pictures of the ships. Downtown Cayman must have been a zoo and I don't even want to imagine what the lines for the tenders looked like.
Just curious, I wonder if "regular" cruise passengers know which ship is their's? Obviously saying, "I'm on the RCI ship (or Carnival) ship" will not work in this situation .
Amazingly, many people do not remember the exact name of their ship, other than to recall that it's the "Carnival something," or "Something of the Seas." !
