I've always thought it ironic that a German ship (Europa of 1930) was turned into a French ship (Liberte') and then a French ship (Pasteur) was turned into a German ship (Bremen).

It would have saved a hell of a lot of money and effort if they'd have just left things alone.....

Great images. I was never a fan of exterior design of Bremen (ex Pasteur). I always imagined that ship w/a smaller forward funnel and a matching dummy aft.

I made one trip on Bremen, ex Pasteur, in 1971 or 72. She was beautifully decorated inside, and wished I had taken another trip in her. I had planned to cruise with her when she went to Chandris as Regina Magna, but she was retired so quickly I didn't have the chance. I had always heard good things about the Europa, ex Kungsholm, but never sailed with her. Thanks for sharing the photos, Ben.
