That ship was there a month ago as well. It just shows up for a day and then leaves again.

I wasn't talking about the ship, that I know about. It's the tall white poles you can see in the photo; they weren't there before.

That's what i was talking about. That same ship was parked on the other side of the Costa Concordia last month as well. Haven't seen it arrive or depart at all to know what it really is. It looks similar to a saw on my last cruise, not sure what kind it is:

Edit: I just checked the webcam and the ship is gone again. A tug is currently maneuvering the large crane barge back into place right now.

Likely transporting more of the structure they are putting under the hulk or and boxes to be attached to her sides to restore buoyancy.

The ship is back again (or one that looks very similar) but is standing off so you can see her. The image below links to a full-size version, from which you can see her more clearly.

I went back through my photos to last month and found a picture of the ship that visited then. Unfortunately the one with her along side the Concordia was corrupt (lower 90% grey) from it trying to reload while it saved. I did save another later once she moved away though.

Saw this scene this morning. The crane ship was making a visit and you could see it dangling a piece of the platform. It looks like it may have even been using the large crane barge to help support the piece.

her is a nice video from the Costa Concordia Youtube

Group Team Black Sheep specializes in conducting recordings from low altitude with drones. Recently, they presented the small Italian rocky Giglio a visit where their little robot planes have made recordings of the Costa Concordia.
