Considering booking an SS Suite on Zuiderdam's Navigation deck for a 10 day S. Carib/Panama canal cruise in 2011. The SS suites are located beneath the lido pool and lido restaurant areas and am concerned about possible overhead noise. Has anyone had one of these suites in this location on the Z or any of the sister Vista class ships? Thank you.

Hello Tender Ticket,

I work for Encore Cruise Escapes in Canada. I have booked several suites on the Zuiderdam's Navigation Deck and have even had the pleasure in staying in one of them. These is absolutely no need for concern regarding overhead noise. They suites are well insulated.

One of the cabins we stayed in was underneath the Lido pool - can't remember if it was an SS or SA, but a few mornings we were awakened when they were moving the tables and chairs around.

If you are worrying about the noise from abpve, why not go for an SY - it's exactly the same size as an SS just on a lower deck - the Upper Promenade deck. This way you won't have to worry about noise from above. We have stayed in an SY many times and had no problems with overhead noise.
