Recently a few cruise ships passed through Inland Sea between Kagoshima/Nagasaki/Hiroshima and Kobe/Osaka in the night time.

Although Crystal Serenity had passed through Inland Sea in the daylight hours on Monday April 13th.

Crystal Serenity passes under the Kurushima-Kaikyō Bridge en-route from Nagasaki to Osaka on her 2009 World Cruise.

I once saw a Nat.Geo documentary on the building of the bridge.
Japan is very interesting, hope to see it once.

The western route, Nishi-Seto Expressway [aka : Shimanami Kaido ], is 46.6 kilometers long from Onomichi in Honshu to Imabari in Shikoku.

"Innoshima Bridge", is the second bridge from Onomichi. It has Central span is 770m in length and was the Japan's longest bridge when completed in 1893, has developed technology to make this bridge gave a big impact since the span of the bridge construction.

K.K. Ferry Sunflower operates Six Passenger/Car ferries connecting Osaka and Beppu/Oita with Kobe and Oita.
However a Ferry Service will withdraw services between Osaka and Oita via Matsuyama effective February 1st.
They remains a ferry service between Osaka and Beppu with currently non-stop service though they will call at Matsuyama on homebound sailings only after February 1st.

Sunflower Cobalt/Ivory are now engaged in regular service on the Osaka - Beppu - Matsuyama - Osaka route.

They leaves Osaka Nanko Cosmo Ferry Terminal at 19:05 and arrives Beppu at 06:55 on the following morning.

Homebound sailing leaves Beppu at 18:35, arrives Matsuyama at 22:20 leaves at 22:55 and Terminates Osaka Nanko Cosmo Ferry Terminal at 07:35 on the flollowing morning.

The Minami and Kita Bisan-Seto Bridge were opened to traffic in April 1988 as a part of the Seto Ohashi Bridge, Seto-Chuo Expressway and JR Seto Ohashi Line. the bridge has 65m clearance under the main girder to pass the huge vessels.
