Would any of you who have done crossings on the QM2 share how passengers actually dressed for the various nights, and how many formal/informal/casual nights there are on a 6-night crossing?

I tend to wear at least a tie even on casual nights and some kind of dark tie/jacket/slacks combo on formal nights ("creative black tie"). Would I fit in better among 40-something passengers if I were in a tux on formal nights?

In a nutshell,

I wear a dark suit on formal night. Informal a sport jacket with open collar shirt is fine. Casual night is slacks shoes, and collared shirt.

The crossings many turn the ship into a costume party with military uniforms, kilts, tunics, and vintage tuxes.

Golden Lion patrons ditch the formal wear right after dinner.

You will fit in fine as long as you don't dress like Frank Costanza

I think there were two of each type, but my memory if fading!

You sound smarter dressed than most on the non-formal nights. A dark suit is fine for formal nights, not everyone wears a tux.

In general Cunard are probably not as formal as people fear. Great choice of ship.
