A rather solemn day here in the States and elsewhere, as we mark the 6th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York, D.C., and Pennsylvania. Here is a post card that they used to sell on board QE2:

I was watching TV that morning and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I will never forget that day.

Joe, thanks for digging out the thread from that time. It's amazing to see that, 6 years later, things haven't changed: the subject quickly veers off-topic, personal agendas and diatribes push everyone's hot buttons, and the whole thing ends as a train wreck!

A brief and somewhat erratic email I sent to my family that afternoon:

words can not express how horrific it was. No sooner had I arrived in my office
than our building was rocked and paper and debris started to arain down. A few
minutes later, another holacious explosion rocked out building raining more
debris down; this was the 2nd plane going into the south tower.

When the towers came down, it was like a nuclear explosion; a huge shock wave
smoke, ash and debris.

When we finally made it out to the streets an hour or so later, it looks like a
war zone.

I'm just glad to be alive and I've never been so scared in my life; the shock of
it still hasnt set in.

My prayers go out to all those who have lost loved ones.....I just cant make
sense of all this.

My love to all.

We just watched the documentary 9/11.

That day was so weird and surreal....

September 11 is always a sad day for me since 2001. Also on the Italian tv there was a documentary related to the tragic evets of September 11, 2001, a sort of reconstruction about what happened inside the twins towers after the terrorist attack.

I will never forget September 11. God Bless America.
