Fancy building a vessel which cannot even pass through the English Channel laden.
Then I saw the fleet of superfast ferries in the Canaries, with Fred. Olsen's name on the side, and I wondered whether there was a hidden side to this kindly old gentleman.
And now I learn that it's a global corporation which also runs giant megaships like Knock Nevis.
Was there ever a Fred. Olsen?
Fred. Olsen is a huge conglomerate with wide ranging interests, including oil rigs, H&W, aircraft [own part of SAS, or did] and even the watch on your arm may be part of the group [Timex Corp].I always remember this
I don't know if he still does, but stories go that when he took the fancy, he would just turn up in port to inspect and sail on one of the cruise ships ad hoc.
