I see that currently the OoTS normally does her Eastern Caribbean starting w/ 2 days at sea, ending up in Nassau before going back into FLL. I see starting in June she hits Nassau first for 1/2 day, ending with 2 days at sea before going into FLL. It was also scheduled that her and the Norwegian Epic were to meet in Nassau on July 23rd, then alternating Fridays, but no more, instead now meeting on alternating Thursdays in Cozumel. I wonder why the big change in Nassau? Too many ships?

They have actually started the new itinerary now. The change is due to passengers wanting the last day to be a sea day. RCI asked for feedback from guests and the change won out. It was not crowded back in January when we were in Nassau and we had four ships in port. We sail again next month and so far we stop in Nassau on Friday but they seem to be making the change about two weeks out so I guess we will know soon.

Yes, Frosty... Oasis IS ugly.

Having the last day a sea day is a big plus IMO. As for the looks of Oasis, she looks odd from some angles but broadside she looks pretty good. She's no Freedom Class (which are quite handsome) but she's not that bad.

Here is a good comparison of the Oasis and Freedom class that was posted on another board. This was taken just a few weeks back of the Oasis and Indy sailing from FLL.

Oasis looks good and not much different than the Freedom class. Epic doesn't even come close.

Yep-Oasis looks very good when viewed from the side. The 3/4 angles look a little odd w/her massive beam. RCI did a very good job w/such a massive ship.

The captain delayed her 4 hours (9PM instead of 5PM) to try and give some extra time for people affected by the mess in Europe. I'm not sure if they had a specific group on the way that they knew about or if the Oasis just has a larger percentage of foreign passengers but she was the only one in port everglades to delay departure.

I wonder how empty she is this week. On our sailing it had to of been 1,000-1,500 passengers from Europe.

I thought this might be the case, but since most flights are canceled I wondered what good waiting a few extra hours would do? Maybe it was a group coming down from Orlando or something, or maybe delayed flights from South America?

On my sailing as well, there were around 2000+ non-US citizens. I thought this was pretty cool and rather unusual for a Caribbean cruise on a US branded ship. It really provided the ship with a diverse, International atmosphere. We heard many different languages.

It's great RCI is attracting so many foreigners to this ship.
