Our last cruise brought back memories of events of the early eighties.

At the first evening show we saw a very smartly dressed lady with high heels, black shoes and the most ridiculous hat with a veil.(Grumple also tells me she had stupid feathers dangling over her face)

Other than her dress, she drew attention by walking up and down the aisles and between tables, seemingly looking for a missing escort.
She did this a few times on both the upper and lower floors of the lounges, she then disappeared.

I thought nothing more of this until the same thing happened the next evening and so on to the end of the cruise.

It didnt take long to remember that these ladies used to operate as on board hookers.

After all, if the cruise lines can extract your money on board, why shouldn't these ladies follow suit as they used to.

I do remember reading about these ladies who apparently do very well economically even after paying a legitimate cruise fare. Cruise lines seemed to tolerate them. What else could they do, other than putting them on the payroll, which is not a realistic option.

Anyway, they are back, but don't tell your spouse when you see them. You may be accused of knowing too much.

I am in total favor of legalizing prostitution as a regulated business with the Netherlands as an example to follow.

In a long lost post I had suggested Escort service on cruisships. Like marijuana on cruiseships, once into international waters, they can provide such, just like gambling.

Just think, all the rowdy teens Topgun detests so much will be busy learning about sex in a safe manner, and when done be too exhausted to be rowdy. It has been proven that rowdy behavior is pent up sexual desire.

Couples with fetishes can have their fantasies lived w/o hurting the marriage. The singles can date more objectively since they will be satiated and seeing with their eyes instead of gonads.

Again, another profit center for the cruiselines.

The Carnival ships look like brothels anyway.

Maybe Malcolm and Mrs. will be more attentive to each other on a cruise if there is competition

Who ever said mixing business with pleasure was a bad thing?
This cruise dint happen to be on the Carnival Legend, then I could imagine that the lady got confused by the red glow from the red funnel skylight.

I recall hearing that the NORWAY regularily had a hooker onboard. One time particular the hooker was a stow away.

Hookers and hash bars: would bring in a whole new kind of cruise customer. It would be a great social experiment at sea and a lot of fun

Apparently, a senior citizen on HAL when approached said. "You're putting me on"

The lady answered, "OK but that'll cost you an extra fifty bucks"

Maybe these ladies are in fact franchised by the cruise lines.

I'm never quite sure how much I should tip a ships hooker?

(Or do they now add it automatically to your onboard account?)

Maybe it depends - am sure they're included on Silversea, Seabourn etc...but maybe on Celebrity or RCI they're more like an alternative restaurant...

Does the level of service vary based upon the cruise line you choose, like it does in the restaurant?

Anyone know?

If it's in your cabin and your normal Cabin Hooker then no extra tip will be required, however if it's a different one, then a few $ cash is appropriate. Anywhere else aboard, it will be included in the auto tipping debited to your account, but an extra 15% will be added for bar and pool service
