It is very rare to see nowadays the bridge of a working cruise ship/liner, with all the security restrictions, but a spanish friend of mine, Rosalibra, gave me the permission to post some pictures she took on the occasion of a bridge visit of the SS Oceanic on this years New Year Cruise :

I'll try to post them...

1)

2) the steering wheel

3)Navigation maps

4)emergency systems

5)Communication system

6)View from the bridge

I found it very interesting, and many thanks to Rosalibra !!

Nice pictures Johan, thanks for posting.

Is the original telemotor still in service or is it replaced by modern equipment and only there for décor?

Nice photos of the Bridge. It still looks just as pristine as when I took a Bridge Visit on her when she was with Premier. I have scads of photos of her interiors on Webshots Community under the name of Mrs. Linarcos. If you get a chance take a peeksie. I just love the OCEANIC.

Many thanks to you Johan (and Rosalibra) for sharing these very interesting and rather rare photos with us.
The carpeting is... colorful, to say the least.

Few years ago, I've drove about 460 kms in a week-end, especially to see her in person, albeit from the outside only, but what a sight!

Wow. A very nice view of the bridge. I wonder if the Chinese have begun the breaking up process on the ship yet? A wonderful that is suddenly gone from this world.
