Can anyone identify which ship this is? The port should be easy, although it's possible to be mislead by this photo.

Okay, I'll be the first one on this one...how about the COSTA RIVIERA??? It looks as if it's at San Juan, PR??

Well I am going to say NYC, but the ship could I think be one of two, the Michelangelo or the Raffaelo. I could not tell you which.

I think Thad is right. BUt I can't tell which of the two ships it is.

I am sure (or almost sure ) that that is New York judging by the pier and then the rest of the city in the photo.

Well done, Thad--yes, it's actually the MICHELANGELO at New York, and the date is 22 June 1968. Here's a photo of her in all her glory, taken on the same day:

And here's that same bow in extremely rough seas two years prior, on 12 April 1966; shortly after this photo was taken, an enormous wave crushed the forward superstructure, killing two passengers and a crew member.

Not to mention, the same era. Costa Riviera entered service as Guglielmo Marconi in November 1963. Michelangelo entered service 18 months later in May 1965.

P.S. Rich: I believe Michelangelo was built by Ansaldo which at the time was still a separate company from CR. OTOH, Raffaello was built by CR.
