I stumbled across these today at NCL.com. They even titled it "New NCL Logos." Not too much of a difference...looks like they changed the font and also go rid of some of the "waves" under NCL.

To be honest I completely agree. I think it really is a great overall branding strategy. I was on the NCL Gem about 2 years ago, and couldn't believe how many places that strategy was being used. It was used very well onboard...to the point where you would see the fish-branding and not even the NCL logo above it.
However, I am not sure how the fish in the opposite direction would look as an official corporate logo. In reality....it would not look so great on the funnel of the ship, but looks great on drinks, paperwork, etc.
Princess has a great logo, as does royal caribbean. I also really liked the former-Majesty Cruise Line logo...From: Brandsoftheworld.com
I think NCL has really done a great job over the past few years at developing their brand-platform (freestyle cruising, the attitude/lifestyle, etc). I think one area that unfortunately has continued to struggle (but does continue to improve) is the actual corporate logo...
