Louis Cruise Lines Ltd announces the chartering of its cruise ship “Aquamarine” to a German company, for a period of five years commencing from April 2006.

Following its chartering, the Aquamarine will offer cruises on behalf of Transocean Tours Touristik Gmbh. The Transocean is one of the biggest companies of cruises in Germany and is specialised in cruises for Germans with another two cruise ships and number of riverboats.

The new chartering is expected to contribute very positively to the profitability of Louis Public Co Ltd from 2006 onwards for the next five-year period, but also to the improvement of Louis Cruise Lines company status, internationally. The offer for first time of a clearly German product creates new possibilities and chances not only in this market but also in other national markets.

The current itineraries of Aquamarine will be executed as from next year by another ship of Louis Cruise Lines.

Lets hope, they will make good Offers for this Ship.

The Astor and the Astoria are much too expensive for the Quality, they offer.

You can cruise for an part of the Money they ask for this two Ships with Celebrity or other premium Lines and get an much better Ship, Food and Service.

I had one Cruise in Asia with the Astor, but it was on an very special Price booked in the Netherlands at www.cruisetravel.nl.

I would never accept Brochure Prices of Transocean.

Last July, my Experience with the Sapphire of Louis Lines was acceptable.

Small Money spend and not bad. The Food was fresh prepared on the Ship, not delivered from ashore and then made warm in water-bath, like MSC in 1995 and 1997..

I think, the German Market will accept an Ship of Louis, as they accepted in the past Epirotiki or Chandris.

Now it is definitive, Aquamarine will be offered for the German Market from April 2006 on, for about 220 Days per Year.

They calculate with 15.000 Pax in the first Season and offer the Ship much cheaper than the Astor and Astoria.

Astor is planned to be upgraded to an Level of 4 Stars plus, and will hold the Prices they take now.

Astoria will offer more Special Prices for early Booking and hold the Quality.

Arielle is the cheap Ship with an Concept for Starters and Families, more funny, less conservative.

I think, the Idea to distribute more will bring more Pax for Transocean.

They can deliver for Budget and for higher prices classic Cruises.

The Idea is not bad...

I wonder how they will do that. I agree with you that these ships - like some others targeting at the german speaking market - are overpaid.

All Ships, targeting the German Market are overpriced, we are ripped off.

But, i think, more and more German Cruisegoers realize that.

And more and more Offers like RCCL, Celebrity, Carnival, NCL, will come to Europe, we can book them all.

They often make good Offers for an great Value, the Century for Example ex Amsterdam you can get for about 1100 Euro in the Season to go to the Baltic Sea.

For an first Class Ship this is not expensive.

I agree most, but not all are overpaid. Exceptions are the Europa, Hanseatic (and (the original) Sea Cloud). They are expensive but offer an adequate product.
Sooner or later the german (or generally European) "targeting" companies will find out. Actually things already started to improve, as more "modern" tonnage is sent to Europe.

Weird.....I would have thought that Louis would want to keep the AQUAMARINE and operate it themselves. Louis doesn't have a big fleet and most of their ships are chartered out....

That is exactly the point.

Louis have had difficult times in the past. All their operations were in the Midle East (Egypt, Israel) and were greatly affected by the problems in the area.

In addition to that, all Louis cruises from Cyprus are very seasonal (peak July and August) because that is when traditionally Cypriots have their vacation.

Chartering the ships gives Louis a more steady income as they receive a "rent" for the chartering of their ships.

And my Experience last July in the Eastern Med. ex Marseilles, France, with the "SAPPHIRE" of Louis Lines was not bad.

They offer an good Value for the Money.

I think, it can work next Year, as in the Past Greek Companies had an good Potential of Cruisegoers, who repeat and repeat with them.

I remember Chandris and Epirotiki.

Both work successful on the German Market.

Louis can do it also.
