Have you ever noticed that cruise lines never seem to have US news channels on TV. All International. Very seldom do you see weather for the US. Especially when cruising in the Carribean.
I would venture to say that the majority of cruisers are from North America.
I don't think it's a satellite reception issue.
What do you think?

The whole point of a vacation is to GET AWAY from life for a little while. I mean, REALLY, would you spend hours of your vacation watching U.S. news, instead of enjoying your time on board with friends and family?

Who wants Donald Trump and any other shit news following you around the Caribbean?

I've never seen local news on any ship I have ever been on, and if it was, I'd rather eat dirt, than watch news while on vacation.

You missed the point. I just asked why no US TV on ships.
During the Winter when people cruise from up North I would like to see if weather will be a problem when returning home.

If you can't get news on a ship because they don't offer it, then the next best thing is your smart phone. WIFI is better than nothing. Downloading a weather app only takes a couple of minutes and usually comes stock with a phone anyways.

Or you could always get online on your computer or internet cafe to see what's going on at home. Another WIFI wonder on board most ships today.

As a senior citizen I am not digitally dependent with all the gadgets that are out there. I have a tablet and a bare bones phone(flip)
We usually get a lot of free internet time (cruise line perks) but usually never use it because it is so SLOW and for me frustrating.
Some cruise lines (Celebrity)still put out daily papers in various languages with world news.You need to go to guest relations to get a copy-- they do run out quickly.The US versions do have weather for most cities.
Others have discontinued this in order to save $$$.
Have you noticed that you don't get as much paper ads sent to your cabin?
