For those overseas this weekend marks the official start of summer here in the US. For a lot of people it is a 4-day weekend culminating tomorrow on the offical observance of Memorial Day.

A Sobering Reminder of the human cost of War. A "Must Read" for every American on Memorial Day

The Shrine Down the Hall

Tarawa - The Public Had To Know

Scroll about 1/3 the way down the page to see the award-winning documentary "With the Marines on Tarawa"

While we are in the midst of two unwanted wars, let us not forget the greatest war, which we also did not want.

WWII vets are on the verge of extinction and its more important than ever that in this age of 15-second news and the 5-second attention span, we NEVER FORGET the valiant men and women who fought in WWII, all those that fought after them and those that put their lives on the line today and every day.

Whether you agree with war or not, disagree with the politicians, but support the soldiers. They're just doing their job.

Tim

'The Shrine Down the Hall' is truly saddeing; the baseball gloves, trophies, movie posters, stuffed animals and knick knacks preserved, clothes still hanging on a door hook, computers and boomboxes, beds neatly made save one where the covers were pulled back as if they had just stepped out for a moment...
