Is it only once a day they cover the route? Most of the ice seemed to have been broken by other vessels fairly recently, but near the beginning is one section where I thought you were going to turn to port and didn't, ploughing straight into ice that didn't look like it had been through for a while. How long does it take for the ice to go back together in that temperature?
It looks pretty precarious boarding in some of that snow, hope no-one slips up.

That may look trivial or obvious, but in the RAMSÖ video, I'm amazed by the skill of the crew man for throwing the mooring rope. Sure he's accostumed to do that, but it seems he's able to catch the bollard everytime at his first try.

In the winter only a few boats departs from Stockholm. Usually you have to start your journey travelling by bus and then change to boat .
In the Vindöga-video the icebreaking in the beginning was a strategic move during a trip Stavsnäs-Sollenkroka (two bus-to-boat-switching-points) without passengers to make the return to Stavsnäs, a few hours later, faster to catch the next departure time. You can see how the speed (FOG at the gps) is 3 knots in the ice and 11 knots otherwise.
Speaking of throwing the mooring rope, I am rather amazed myself; I have seen them miss, but it doesn´t happens often.
