After remaining in Greece as Blue Aegean in 2001, Superferry had her old name restored in 2002 when she was purchased by the consortium for year round service.

Irish Business News, May 12, 1999

Swansea Cork Ferries was acquired by an 80%-owned Irish consortium from the Greek-based Strintzis Line last March. The company which bought it, Briar Star Ltd, is headed up by previous directors of the ferry, Denis Murphy, Thomas Hunter McGowan and Des Morrissey. Also included is another influential Cork businessman, Frank Boland.
Briar Star has a charter agreement with the Strintzis Line for the Superferry, still operating on the Cork-Swansea route.
