Many of us new Steve in a 'virtual' sense from his blogs, Sky Travel and his CT contributions. (In fact the web is full of his witty video diaries.)
I only met Steve once on board 'Norwegian Epic' earlier last year and he was a knowledgeable and charming guy. I wish I had enjoyed his company more.
He was a former journalist/assistant editor with 'The Sun' newspaper, Britain's top seller. He worked for them for 23 years.
Steve was 54. And yes he did love to cruise...

I only knew Steve via emails and posts on the forum but he was always upbeat and over time he was able to turn a hobby into much more.
He joined CruiseTalk back in 1999 and posted as recently as last month. We will all miss his wit and humor.
Sail on Steve...
Like Malcolm I only met Steve once, on a crossing from Southampton to New York aboard QE2 in January 2008. Amazingly it was his first time sailing with QE2 or even Cunard so I was quite interested in his reaction and very happy that he did appreciated what made her so special to all of us who loved her. I had a lot of fun pointing out some of the unique features and history of the ship and in turn he shared his wealth of experience and opinions on all sorts of different ships and hilarious stories from ships and ports all over the world. I will never forget a story he told about his first visit to NYC in the 1980s, which is not suitable to be reproduced here. I am very sorry I will never have the chance to repeat that experience. I will miss his posts here as well.
My condolences to his friends and loved ones.
