Just checked out some new pics of her on Barts Shipspotting site, as always fab pics but given they designed this from bottom up Silversea should take a bow for designing a truely disturbing looking ship, the mid ships area up top is really horrid.

What could have been a lovely ship has IMHO been ruined on the exterior by a lack of taste.

She really does remind me of a mini NCL Epic.

Mike, you have to remember that her design was based off of the hull platform that evolved from a ro-ro ferry, hence the very prominent bow with the superstructure pushed all the way forward.

She also carries 90 more pax than the almost identically sized Seabourn Spirit, so they had to accomodated those suites somewhere, somehow.

That said, I don't think she's that bad looking externally. Perhaps a bit 'full figured; but not hideous.

I agree that SEABOURN ODYSSEY looks better than SILVER SPIRIT, but I don't think SPIRIT is horrible looking. A little front-heavy but otherwise not too bad.

Some new pics can be found here:

No real surprises. Very nice furnishings but nothing over the top. Very typical Silversea.

Overall I would probably prefer SEABOURN ODYSSEY. It's more my personal style.

Pretty safe (ie. dull) interiors, but I assume that's what the clientele want. I'd prefer sailing on one of the new Seabourn ships, which are more dramatic and theatrical.

Oceania's new ship may have the most interesting interiors of them all.

She doesn't look that bad externally. Not pretty, but I wouldn't put her in the same category as EPIC.

Her interiors look blandly pleasant.

I agree that SEABOURN ODYSSEY looks like a more appealing ship though. Not that I would complain about having the opportunity to try either one.

From a ro-ro? Which one then?

My main objection is the double height bulk head forward of the pool area, it is just like a cliff and could easily been disguised, I imagine looking up from the pool and seeing the huge expanse of white steel, its like MUTS is missing.

Where Seaborne have been innovative with their new ships Silversea have simply gone bigger, it is the Epic of the luxury world of cruising - an area of the industry that really should be outstanding in every respect.

I wouldn't accuse EPIC of not being innovative. I don't like the way it looks, but it's not old hat.

If this is just a warmed over old design made bigger, it's the luxury CARNIVAL DREAM, not EPIC.
