Has anyone booked a cruise on Balmoral during her inaugural season? For me I'm waiting until her summer 2008 itinearies are published as I won't be able to get the time off until the summer vacation.

I'd noted that FOCL mentioned that two of the public rooms would be named Blenheim and Ballindalloch. As Ballindalloch appears to be a name associated with food as the Laird of Ballindalloch is well known in food circles so I wouldn't be surprised if that is the name given to one of the dining areas. For Blenheim I wondered if that name would be given to the main lounge but I wondered if FOCL would give that name to the Library as NCL has made a success of having a ss United States library on Pride of Hawaii and ss America on Pride of America. Time will tell.

Does anyone know what has happened to Arne Solberg as his name has been taken off the Fred Olsen captains list? Jan Thommessen (the trumpet captain) is now back on Black Prince.

Hi John

When visiting friends in Manchester we attended a Cruise Night by a travel agent that we use and it was concentrated on Fred Olsen, the guy from FO did say that the main restuarant on Balmoral would be called Ballindalloch, he didnt pronounce the name properly in fact it sounded nothing like Ballindalloch so we spoke to him at the end of the presentation and got him to pronounce it properly including the "ch", he didnt mind and made the joke that as all the other people were English they wouldnt know any better LOL....
