I just scanned and uploaded new deck plans for CROWN PRINCESS. Be sure to click on "Get Original Uploaded Photo" to see them in full size. The link should be just under the picture itself. Keep in mind these are large files and will take a little time to download if you have a slow connection.

Here is the link:

All in all some very nice improvements to CARIBBEAN PRINCESS. CROWN PRINCESS is still based on the original GRAND PRINCESS, but the design has evolved quite a bit over the years. None the less, I think it's time for Princess to come out with a completely new design.

Hope you enjoy!

Ernie

Thanks for the scans Ernie. Exactly what changes has been changed as far as layout is concerned on the CROWN PRINCESS. I see that Skywalker's been relocated, but the rest of the ship looks like a CARIBBEAN PRINCESS to me?

Hi Wayne,
The ship is basically CARIBBEAN PRINCESS, but there have been a lot of changes if you look closely. Keep trying!

Thank Ernie, I have been waiting to see what changes were being made the the Caribbean Princess design. Nice improvements. Better use of public space. Really like the Crown Plaza, much better layout, the location of Sabittini(sp?) and the larger Wheelhouse lounge. Flow in the public spaces should be much improved and the number of new resturants and old favorites. Wish they could go back to the other "Grand" Class ships and make some of these upgrades.

Now that I have had alot of time to compare and contrast, you are right Ernie! It seems there are less outdoor deck space since the kids/teens facilities has taken over aft Sports deck...

The changes still don't seem to affect the fact that Caribbean Princess was overcrowded, and didn't have enough public areas for her passengers. Crown Princess might be somewhat better than her sister in that regard, but not as much as I would have thought. Looks like the golf course/ putting range is on top of the "shopping cart handle"- of all places!

That is one of the major changes between CARIBBEAN and CROWN PRINCESS. No more shopping cart handle! Skywalkers has been moved to just behind the funnel, like on SAPPHIRE and DIAMOND PRINCESS. I don't think the miniature golf course should stand out too much there, but you never know.

Also be sure to check out the deck space all the way forward. It's a new adults only area called "Sanctuary". The question is, will they be able to enforce the "no kids" rule?

Lately I have been reading about more and more incidents concerning wild kids and underage drinking on Princess (mostly the CARIBBEAN PRINCESS). Princess is sounding more and more like Carnival, and maybe even worse as at least Carnival has a strict security force roaming the decks. 7-8 years ago you just didn't read about such incidents on Princess. There is no doubt they have become mainstream mass-market.

Ernie

well......i think she looks no different externallly frum the Caribbean Princess.....except the repositioning of the Skywalkers........ but i like the idea of putting the golf course on top the disco........and having the sports court between the disco and the funnel...........so if a court is going there.....did they get rid of the indoor one above the bridge?????
