The R SEVEN, currently still laid up in Marseille, has been chartered for long-term to german operator Delphin Seereisen. After small refurbishment, the ship will start first in Monaco during the Formula 1 as a ship for the RTL TV-reports on that event and later will start cruising with German passengers and a mostely ukrainian crew provided by MTC Odessa.
The ship will be renamed DELPHIN RENAISSANCE. In November this year, the ship will enter drydock together with the DELPHIN, which will continue to sail for Delphin Seereisen as well, in Barcelona to be transformed into the ideal ship for a German clientele following the ideas of Heinz-Herbert Hey, the manager of Delphin Seereisen.

Good luck Mr Hey and MTC !!!!

Often I heard that the DELPHIN RENAISSANCE will take over DELPHINs cruises from winter 2003/2004.

But know I see on the site

http://www.port-of-kiel.de/Deutsch/Gf_haupt.htm
(cruise ship calls at Kiel)

that the name DELPHIN was replaced by DELPHIN RENAISSANCE two times in the new actual list.

Is this possible? Will the D.R. take over the cruises earlier???

Too bad Delphin felt they had to clip my photo of Insignia and pass it off as their own.

In Monaco it was the DELPHIN RENAISSANCE, I saw it on TV. I could read the name.

The photo I posted was from the link:

http://www.seereisenmagazin.de/006a-topnews.htm

It was not from the DELPHIN site!!!

I agree. Copyright violations really bother me, and for a big company like Delphin to steal a competitor's photograph gives them a black mark on my list!

I repeat:

the photo was NOT from the DELPHIN-web site, but from the site www.seereisenmagazin.de.

It has nothing to do with DELPHIN KREUZFAHRTEN!

What I don't understand; I saw R7 in Marseille at May 3, and now she's already painted totally white, new funnellogo, sailing after such a long time being laid up..getting a ship back into service takes much more time or am I wrong??

I am also confused... especially: why charter Delphin Cruises a ship and will use her not until December for their cruises? Or will she used earlier? Port of Kiel shows two calls of the DELPHIN RENAISSANCE, but these are the same dates scheduled for the DELPHIN. And I read somewhere that the DELPHIN will operate the cruises until autumn.

And on TV I saw definetely a R-class ship, white and with the name DELPHIN RENAISSANCE. It was used during the Formula I race, a lot of VIPs lived on her. If I remeber right, there were the NO ANGELS, Yvonne Catterfeld (actually no. 1 in German single charts...)

And just in this moment I see that the "R7" (so it is called in the list!) is booked for Villefranche tomorrow, 02.06.03.

Now that most of the Renaissance ships have been sold, they are all white now, and you can really see how ungainly they are....

Not MINERVA II (ex R8) and R5 BLUEDREAM and R6 (something)-both operating for Pullmantur.

More confusion:

The name DELPHIN was replaced by DELPHIN RENAISSANCE in some ports, not only Kiel.

Now also at Stockholm + Copenhagen.

So the DELPHIN RENAISSANCE take over the cruises earlier than autumn?????????
