1. Sunscreen - most lotions say not to use on baby under 6 mos, but you should test it first and then use it anyway as long as your pediatrician says okay. Even if you keep your baby in the shade, the reflection of the sun can burn baby's fair skin. Our baby did develop prickly heat (rash) from a combo of sun and lotion, but ship's doctor said it would go away on it's own (and it did.)2. Heat -- we took a "cold pack" to keep bottles cold when sightseeing in port, but also used it to cool baby down on very hot days (along with a bottle of water to pour over him.)3. Formula/Special Food request -- 45-60 days prior to sailing, we typed a letter to cruise line listing the special foods our baby would need along with quantities. i.e. I said we would need 72 nursette bottles of enfamil, 10 jars each of #2 applesauce, bananas, peas etc., 1 box of dry rice baby cereal, teething biscuits. I was very specific about the formula bottles, because I didn't want to be worried about sterilizing bottles on my vacation. All this was in my cabin when we boarded. I was very pleased with the service of HAL and it did not cost extra. All was included in the baby's cruise fare.3. Crib -- RCL should provide a crib for your baby. You may want to ask what type, and if you are concerned you could bring your "pack n play". We had a nice little wooden crib, with narrow slats that was low to the ground, so if seas are slightly up, you won't be worried about crib tipping over.4. Babysitting -- We had a babysitter (usually off duty woman crew member) come to our cabin every night so that we could go to late seating dinner by ourselves. We felt comfortable with this because we could "pop in" to the cabin, two decks below to check on the baby at any time. And we did check, several times a night in a 2-3 hour period. Otherwise, your baby may be sleeping pretty good by then and could probably go with you to dinner in the car seat without bothering anyone.I hope this gives you a start...Let me know if you have any further questions.
