For people who can remember that far back what are their favorite ocean liner from the 1950's and 60's. Mine remains Orient Lines 1960 built Oriana.

yes...i like the lloyd triestino's m.v victoria which was similar if not the same?...and remember her as the m.v. anastasis in vancouver during a visit back in the 80's barely changed except the name.

The Victoria and her twin Asia were similar looking externally to the Africa/Europa twins. Externally they could be distinguished by the style of their anchors and the number of lifeboats (Africa/Europa had two extra lifeboats located aft and 2 decks lower than the main array of 8). Internally the Victoria and Asia had more deluxe tourist class accommodation.

jeffrossatsea - Anastasis ex-Victoria was in service until 2007 when she was scrapped. Overall she saw 54 years of service, the first 24 as Victoria.

She was originally named after Victoria Island in Honk Kong. This was in keeping with Lloyd Triestino's naming convention for their passenger ships introduced in the 1950s.
