The 1955 built classic cruiise ship ' Princess Daphne ' sailed from the Crete port of Souda on Saturday morning, 17th May 2014, after engine trials on Friday while alongside at this greek island port.

She has been there since September 2012 after the financial failure of her owners.

Her named is now ' Daphne ' .

Having been registered in Portugal she is now registered at St Kitts and Nevis.and reported as heading to Alang with a crew on board from the ship breakers.

She was cruising at between 10 and 12.2 knots this morning as she heads to Port Said.

Hi Dambros12 -

One picture showing the ship is all that is required for a blog on the ' Daphne ' although I may post more on other subjects .

Others can of course add pictures to the blog !

The blog is one of three web sites I run besides also working as a director of two UK companies !

The ' Daphne ' anchored off of Port Said about 16.50 hrs UK time on Monday evening 19th May 2014.

Having been laid up for some time it is expected she will be inspected by the canal authorities before being allowed to transit the Suez Canal to the Red Sea.
