Since I 'll be moving there my question was what the status of the Doulos is, is she still there and are the plans taking shape, anyone ... ?
Greetings
Doulos is no longer in Singapore. In September last year Maritime Matters reported [9 Sept] to be under tow "heading ultimately for Tanjung Uban on the Indonesian island of Bintan."
Then this report states "She set off at 9.15am [9 Sept] on Monday for Batam, where she will be refurbished before being transported to Bintan" and that from August 2014 "Doulos Phos will be permanently dry-berthed near the Bintan Resorts Ferry Terminal, surrounded by water and facilities - including villas on stilts and a banquet hall."
This says Binton Resorts International agreed to help turn her in to a hotel - "complete with 60 cabins, restaurants, a piano lounge, maritime museum and swimming pool."
However I have failed to find any pictures of her since Singapore and no mention on Bintan Resorts various sites.
Still, it is only a hop skip and a jump away from Singapore for a weekend scouting trip
