Hi,
I got this from a friend of mine a long time back. I'm not quite sure how old it is, so I put it up on Ebay. I'm having troubles with Photobucket right now, so the photos on Ebay will have to do. Please take a look and tell me what you know of this kind of model. Thank you so much for your help, here is the link:

i have the same model M702 by triang hornby minic...i know they are made, well...were made in hong kong around the 70's after they bought the moulds to reproduce these models...QE, QM, canberra and US and all had the plastic base (red boot) with wheels attached for a smooth ride on a solid surface...there's a person on e-bay sellin that one for 74.00 pounds

Thank you for filling in those gaps for me, I appreciate that. If it's going for 74.00 pounds, then I have mine priced right because of the defects on it.

74.00 pounds for one of these is waaay out of line. I have five of these, all in good to excellent shape, and the most I ever paid for one was $18.

The QE, QM and ssUS are the most common of the Triang models and are pretty easy to find....they're really not rare. Neither is Canberra. Aquitania, N. Amsterdam and, oddly enough, Caronia seem to fetch above average prices.

Deb, the $10 starting price is right on the money!

Thank you so much Russ, I was hoping I had put that at the right beginning price. I've put this model up for bids now three times in a row, I've got two watchers for the moment. Not one nibble yet. I'm planning on putting up a full set of NCL's original models of the SKYWARD, SOUTHWARD, SUNWARD II & STARWARD up soon. They're still in their original plastic dust covers. One has a rubberband in it, not sure how that got there, I tried to pull it out and it broke off a small part. One of the tops of one of the models has a crack, but not broken through and some of the bases on the outsideon the bottom have a couple breaks. Other than that, they're almost mint. I'm thinking I'll put them up for $30.00 for a starting bid.

The NCL models should bring a little more. BTW, the plastic dust covers on those models are notorious for becoming hazy due to oxidation. If yours are hazy, try cleaning them with toothpaste and a soft cloth. Rub in small circles, but don't rub too hard and switch areas on the cloth periodically.

Some people even mix a little baking soda with the toothpaste.

Thank you so much for your advice, I'm not seeing haze on any of the dust covers, which is a HUGE plus right now. I expect like you, they could fetch more since I'm selling them as a set and not individually.

Russ, I put the NCL models up for bids on Ebay yesterday, they were up with a beginning bid of $30.00 with a Buy It Now at $40.00....I've never seen a set of models sell so fast. About 4-8 minutes later....BAM, they're going to Michigan. LOL LOL.
