I would love to see a feature on those so loved Bahamarama cruise ships: i.e. the Sunward II, The Emerald Seas, The Nordic Empress, and the Galileo, (I know she sank) and my favorite amongst them all my small ship Dolphin. (beached in 2003)
Some have gone on. The Coral is on a beach, The Nordic Empress is in Europe, Not sure about Emerald Seas, I never figured out where she went? There is also the other Chandris ships like Victoria and the ill fated Galileo.
The early Carnival ships Mardi Gras, Festivale and Carnivale. All these early ships were my loves. And being a young travel agent and prices were not what they are today, I got to sail on many of them working at the Port of Miami.
We used to go watch every weekend the sail aways when Chalk airlines was still operating. I loved all those old ships. They had their own kind of class, aside from all the massive ships with all the bells and whistles.
You must have stories galore about all these little gems of the sea. That would be a treat.
Thanks.
