As a tribute to past female explorers and adventurers, Cruise & Maritime Voyages is naming its two new ships Amy Johnson and Ida Pfeiffer.

Pacific Aria will sail under the TransOcean Kreuzfahrten brand for the German market. She is renamed Ida Pfeiffer, an Austrian explorer, travel writer and ethnographer. Pacific Dawn will be renamed after solo pilot Amy Johnson.

Here are the interiors as they are now as P&O Australia's Pacific Dawn.

She was built in 1991. She is 70, 285 gross tonnes, carrying 1,546 passengers. She enters service, being based at Tilbury, London in 2021.

Ihave never heard of these explorers.
Clearly again destined for aspecific small national market.

Amy Johnson is quite well know to the Brits, but not Ida Pfeiffer. I guess she is to the Germans.

CMV do not offer an international product as such - selected markets (UK, Germany, France and Australia).
