VOYAGER OF THE SEAS was extensively refitted in Singapore Oct/Nov last year, while EXPLORER underwent the same changes at Cadiz in March/April of this year. At first I didn't notice it, but they have added a bunch of cabins above the bridge. While the addition makes the ships slightly less goodlooking than they were, I have to say, it has been done very discreetly:

I think it looks better with a more finished look. New domes behind this area as well.
I'm sure these cabins are suites$$.

If I am correct Navigator of the Seas was the first to get these new cabins, or at least she was also on the list.

They are not actually suites but a new grade of panoramic ocean views because only a few at the back of the area have balconies and all the rest have large windows. So on the price chart they fall more mid range but of course it increased the capacity which is what the industry is all about.

Personally I don't think it has a major impact on the look of the ships at all compared to Carnival Corp which has been making far less aesthetically pleasing additions.

Yes, I just noticed that NAVIGATOR OF THE SEAS received the same treatment back in January 2014. She now measures 139,570gt (was 138,279gt). The rebuilt VOYAGER and EXPLORER OF THE SEAS now measure 138,194gt where they used to measure 137,276 gt.

Royal Caribbean always seems to take much more care than Carnival when changing the exterior of its ships and these ships are no exception. If you wouldn't have known better, you'd have thought that those cabins had always been there.
