They are not actually suites but a new grade of panoramic ocean views because only a few at the back of the area have balconies and all the rest have large windows. So on the price chart they fall more mid range but of course it increased the capacity which is what the industry is all about.
Personally I don't think it has a major impact on the look of the ships at all compared to Carnival Corp which has been making far less aesthetically pleasing additions.
Royal Caribbean always seems to take much more care than Carnival when changing the exterior of its ships and these ships are no exception. If you wouldn't have known better, you'd have thought that those cabins had always been there.
