The P.O. ship Oriana returned to the Port of Miami Saturday night, after an incident on board. They tell us that possibly there was an engine room fire, and the ship came back to port.

I don't have any further information regarding passengers, crew or other at this time.

Celebrity Silhouette returned early to Port Everglades for a medical disembark as well. The ship is in port at this hour.

3:12 a.m. Sunday morning. EST

P&O is reporting that it was a very minor fire in the engine room that they extinguished very quickly. No passenger alarm or muster was sounded. However the US Coast Guard made them undergo an inspection so I assume they are claiming authority as it must have been in local waters at the time or maybe because she was en route between two USA ports.

The Oriana was quickly cleared to sail and was due to leave Miami by 8 am this morning but they decided to go straight to New Orleans skipping a planned call in Key West.
