Hit with a double whammy Princess have finally cancelled a Sea princess Cruise. The "virus vessel arrived in Perth with Noro and then "Pandemic Princess" cancelled the next cruise 1 hour after the new passengers had boarded.
Sea Princess will be doing the World Cruise next year , so hopefully all will be right by then?

Sea Princess is now proceeding at 16 knots from Perth to Sydney with no passengers and will have an emergency dry dock there to repair a faulty repair she had during her 3 day stopover in Singapore .

Crankshaft and a bearing problem - didn't realise she had been limping around for so long. Seems to be a commong thing these days - limp around before something becomes drastic.

Update.
Sea princess is now in the drydock at Sydney having her crankshaft replaced. It is taking longer than scheduled so she wont make it to Brisbane for the next cruise. Instead, Princess will fly all Brisbane passengers down to Sydney on charter flights, one day after she was due to sail from Brisbane and they will have a shortened cruise around NZ ,which will miss Auckland.
Its a very tight schedule, and no mention of a sea trial has been given to test the new crankshaft.
A Tasman Sea crossing is not an ideal sea trial I would think.

Princess have cancelled a second 14 day cruise as repairs are more complex than anticipated. Next cruise is 13 Oct.

SEA PRINCESS UPDATE:

IMPORTANT NOTICES
As you know, Sea Princess has been in repair at the Garden Island dry-dock in Sydney for the past several days. Work has continued on the complex repair project and over the past 48 hours it has become clear that the work will be more complicated than originally thought, causing additional undetermined delays. At this time we cannot confirm with certainty when Sea Princess will be ready to sail. In an abundance of caution, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the cruise. In recognition of this extraordinary circumstance, all guests will receive a full refund of their cruise fare, pre- and post-cruise packages, air costs, and taxes, fees, and port expenses. Each guest will also receive a 100% Future Cruise Credit equal to the cruise fare paid on this voyage. Reimbursement of reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will also be considered. We will also work with our guests who have begun their travels to secure homeward arrangements. Please know that we share in your disappointment and deeply appreciate your patience and understanding of these circumstances.

Thanks bmajor. She seems to be undertaking trials off Sydney today (2 October local time). Surprising, neither her departure nor arrival are recorded on Sydney Ports' movement list. I've never seen this before.

She's on her way back in to Sydney Harbour now and about to pass her outbound sister, Dawn Princess. Again, no listing on the port movement summary - very unusual.
