Meyer Werft still has it's outside webcam live here:
http://www.meyerwerft.de/en/meyerwerft_de/helper/stream.jsp
It's updating every few seconds and they occasionally move the angle around or change the zoom.

They've already moved both of the Anthem mega blocks back into the building hall.

It seems the light blue hull is the way forward for RCI, I don't mind

I'm struck by how much the hull and the center superstructure are similar to those of the NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY/GETAWAY. Seems Meyer has developed a basic design that they can adapt for different customers.

I am actually liking the baby blue, but am i disappointed in the exterior design of the ship, I think this is the ugliest ship RCI has in their fleet since the Viking Serenade and her excuse was she was an ex ferry.

Now that she's out of the box, here are a few observations.

1. I like baby blue hull, however it look much more blue than Oasis/Allure. Not sure if it's just the light, but it's striking.

2. I do not like the HUGE name on her bow. It's obnoxious looking and out of proportion for the ship. They should have used a smaller graphic similar to Oasis/Allure.

3. It is interesting how the new RCI and NCL ships have relatively small/short funnels. They look lost amid the clutter of the upper decks. Gone are the days when a funnel was a large identifying element on a ship. That's too bad.

4. I am VERY disappointed that RCI has abandoned their trademark Viking Crown Lounge on this ship. Although the VCL has morphed over the years away from the unique circular room seen on the original ships, I appreciated RCI's nod to history and heritage by keeping it. Sad to see it go.

5. Finally, I have to say the name "Quantum" is absolutely moronic. Clearly the marketing folks at RCI don't have a dictionary. They just liked the sound of it and assumed a "quantum leap" (which they used in their press releases when announcing the name) was a big jump. In fact, it is the opposite. Quantum means small, tiny, minute. It's a stupid name for a ship--something I'd expect from CCL.

I find it interesting that the ship is set to debut in less then 100 days and we still are awaiting some other details about the ship. While it is nice to be suspenseful, I find it kind of annoying now!

She also seems to share the same platform as the solstice class. Am I imagining things? Or is this ship derived from that class?

There's nothing that makes me want to sail this ship. Too many gimmicks.. They're all very extreme. I also agree that it's a pretty ugly ship too. I do, however, like the blue. It's different and it works.

I think "Two70 Degrees" lounge is the new "Viking Crown" lounge.

Sounds like a holiday theme park on a barge with a hotel attached !

At least Viking Ocean Cruises are building some proper cruise ships !

I said the same thing....seem like the Platform is the Solstice Class ship with a mix of Breakaway. Disappointing
