According to the Meyer Werft website the Norwegian Getaway is scheduled for float out this Saturday 11/02 at approx. 10:30 AM.

Already? NCL had been so quiet during the construction this time.

From what we have seen, the hullart looks pretty darn good.

I am fascinated by how many people seem to turnup to watch the float out. Especially the two sitting in the folding chairs!

What's "box" on the side on both of these ships? You can clearly see it just behind the name. It seems to go from the waterline up at least three decks. I saw the same thing on the side of the Norwegian Breakaway when I was on her in New York. It's not a door. It looks like a WWII-stye degaussing.

I am not entirely sure what you mean but you are very likely referring to what is part of the inflatable raft evacuation system - in some cases there are pipes or structures that guide the raft(s) towards the water on the outside of the hull.

Guess that could be what it does. It is just to the left of the Norwegian on the hull and in this picture there's a spotlight reflecting inside the "box" which does appear to be made up of some type of pipes.

It's the bowsing system of the Marin-Ark MES which is above on the prom in the white box.
