She sailed past the Cams about 3:30 and is at her berth just now. A good 146 folks on the cam were watching from all over the world.
She looks beautiful. Lots of ships to see in Port this Sunday. It will be a fabulous sunrise.

I have not seen her in person but from the pictures she looks horribly boxy and the MUTs sticks out. Granted none of the new ships are very graceful but this one sticks out as being especially ungainly with little attempt to add any style or flair.
I guess you can look on the positive side and say at least she does not have the shopping cart (trolley) handle on the back.
It's a shame. They one said a well designed ship does not look its size.

A spacious balcony does not generate revenue. I remember the 'old' Princess back in the 1970s, 80s and early 1990s. The last premium Princess cruise I did was to Alaska on the first Crown Princess in 1993. There was still silver service in the dining room on that cruise. The cruises we did after 1995 or so began to lose the premium feel.

Some of the early reviews that I was reading were just terrible. They weren't even complaining about the design of the ship (many liked it), the crew/activities onboard (also mostly positive), or even the tiny balconies (though nobody said anything positive about them, lol). They were complaining about the actual construction quality of the ship. Lots of people were complaining about everything feeling very cheap and wearing quickly. Apparently she hit some moderate seas (and I'll stress that they were moderate, not some kind of severe weather situation) on one of the short cruises to nowhere when she first set sail and the cabins actually started falling apart! I read a review from someone claiming that in the middle of the night a section of their cabin's ceiling actually fell down on them. They said that when they went to guest services the line was huge from other guests with similar issues. I didn't believe them but as I read more review I was shocked to find multiple people all writing review with similar issues where parts of the cabin actually fell apart; some ceilings, some walls, and others cabinetry. It's weird to say, but I hope that after a few months of sailing now everything has already fallen apart and been repaired properly this time.
You would have thought that the build would have been solid and that the ship would have rave reviews because they took such care, so they said, on the build.
It seems they did not from what people are saying.
