We are booked on Carnival Destiny on Febuary 4th 2013 for a TransAtlantic crossing. Our sail time is 11:59pm.Why would this be our sail time? Is it because we ar so far out? Or Maybe because it's not a regular route so they have yet to assign a sailing time? Would anybody know what kind of weather to expect? I am hoping for some ruff seas as every cruise I have ever took has been like a bath tub. Thanks for any input. Keith

My guess is that your sail time is 11:59pm so that you would be sailing on the 4th and not the 5th. Don't know what you mean by "so far out",though. You didn't mention departure or destination ports.
And I would also guess that you will be in for more that a cruise in a bath tub in Feb. Of course that would depend on your route and ports.
Regardless, it sounds like a wonderful trip. I envy you.

Michael

You sound like the perfect travel partner! Ha

Like the old Cunard ads used to say, "Getting There Is Half The Fun!"

Could they need the time to load provisions to start the conversion to Sunshine during her TA?

I'm sure the 11:59 departure time is to avoid having to pay for an overnight birthing. We once did a Mother's Day overnight cruise on QE2. They told us on board that it was cheaper to sail around for the night than to stay in port overnight.

Whatever happens I will report here on Cruise Talk. We have a corner room balcony veiws out the back and side. Leaving Miami at night I hope people are blinking their Balcony lights in the condos for us! If we board at 8:00pm I guess dinner is not happening? I love my first meal onboard any cruise to be by the pool anyway, usally a burger. Did it that way in Regal Empress serveral times. I also think it will be interesting asking the crew about the up coming changes and what they do for th 47 dyas in dry dock. ANd to see what they do as we approach Italy. Whatever happens it will be a blast.

Enjoy it SteepleChase.

From looking at the plans it will be worse with more cabins and fewer public rooms.
