Hello!!!
When I was perusing the Costa website the other day I saw that they had a new ship ,the COSTA VOYAGER. I can't see very well ,so I thought htat was a brand new ship. On Closer inspectiomn, I see that thei is actually the Royal Olympic ship,ROYAL OLYMPIC VOYAGER. There were no itieneraries listed at all,or deck plans for htat matter. Wher will she sail to? I am guessing Mediterranean voyages and maybeRed Seas. Will these voyages be like the Swan Hellenic or Voyages of Discovery type cruises?? Thanks!!

Ships that have long since been scrapped are also advertised for sale on some shipbrokers' sites.

Wow, that is surprsing....

Is Carnival Corp. ready and OK with the Voyager's extremely high fuel consumption??

All in all she is a lovely ship, intimite. But not sure if its the right and suitable for Costa. This ship got only 10 balcony cabins (or so) and 2 powerfull engine rooms that provides her with a speed of 28 knots (Therefore the high fuel consumption) - it was best suitable for ROC for their "Golden Fleece" itineraries which were Destenation-extansive and the high speed fast monohull ship was the right ship for that task...

It really depends on the speed the ship is scheduled for that determines the costs. A fast and powerful ship like the Voyager can be run economically at 18 knots.

It is true that many ships are listed for sale that are not actively for sale but this ship is.

Along with COSTA ALLEGRA and the recently sold COSTA MARINA, she is apparently too small for Costa or Ibero (and this makes sense, she is indeed tiny by today's standards for a mass-market cruise line).

She is a nice-looking ship and I hope she finds a good home. I think I would rather see her sold on than receive one of the delightful refits Carnival has treated so many of its nicer ships to recently...

Her listed price is Euros 115 million which could be make her of interest to Louis Cruises or maybe one of the new cruising companaies in the Far East..

115 million Euros is not too much for that size of a a ship???

Mano Cruises might find it suitable as well I think - she is not too big, can enter easly to Haifa Berth terminal, Not too many pax - so it can be reasonably sold occupation, right suze to entered Greek isles... If I would be Mano, I would sell my 2 old tonnage (Royal Iris, and Golden Iris) and buy relatively new tonnage such as the Voyager...
