Fain's blog has new photos posted from the sea trials along with some really great shots of the Boardwalk and Central Park. They give a good indications of size and perspective. I don't think they are as small or confining as some on this board had feared. Check them out:

The picture (#8) of the Boardwalk balcony cabins is one that leaves me lost for words. I cant imagine ever wanting to book one of these. I wonder if the noise echoing up this canyon wall from the insuing merryment will have an 11pm curfew time? Cant wait to see updated pictures of the Central Park area when the tarps come off.

Going back to the artists conceptions of this area the balconies, as well as the actual Boardwalk area itself, appears to being about 1/2 size.

Good Photos. However CP and BW look big because theyt arnt finished. I think once all of those trees and bushes and what not get put on it will look smaller. Also the Carousel looks pretty small. Perhaps some long lines if lots of kids want to ride. The pool deck also looks very small for 6,000 + passengers. Ill have to see the finished product.

Over and Out,

The more I see Oasis, the more I worry about how busy she may be. I know they have the neighbourhood concept but the stern area does have a lot going on and it does seem to be one area that will seem and be crowded.

Central Park still looks small given furniture etc isn't there yet.

Were I to cruise on Oasis, I'd definitely be booking a balcony cabin facing the sea along the sides of the ship so you can get some quiet time and reaffirm some connection to the sea. As dmwnc1 suggests, I believe the noise around the Boardwalk cabins may be intolerable.

The more I see of OASIS the more excited I get to sail on her. Just six short months!! I really can't wait. The spaces in the pictures even look more incredible to me, and whether or not they are to scale in the renderings ... well who cares! They are going to be amazing spaces no matter what and no other ship will have them. I truly think there are so many public areas, so much deck space, six large pool areas (including the largest pool afloat), and so much planning that has gone into the design that OASIS will not feel crowded. Of course there are going to be lots of people, but I mean she won't feel anymore crowded than any typical 3000 passenger mass-market ship. Probably less so as there is so much to do and everyone has different ideas of fun.

I do agree about the Boardwalk balcony cabins. I have no interest. Probably not even Central Park. I booked a very nice ocean facing cabin with an extended balcony on the "hump". Sitting on that balcony watching the ocean ... well it doesn't matter if the ship is carrying 100 people or 5000, the beautiful view is the same.

I can't wait for this ship. I sail on her January 16th. It's nice to see Royal Caribbean and NCL push the envelope in cruise ship design regardless of what their looks may be. When the Freedom and Voyager class ships were built people commented how crowded they would be. Not the case at all. With so many areas on the Oasis, I see no potential issues here either.

Its a good thing not all 6000 passengers will be using any one of these spaces at the same time.

Gordon,
What a shame you are not going a week later or me a week earlier. We would be sailing together. I will be getting on as you will be getting off.

Ernie, that is a shame that we are cruising on the same ship only one week apart. We were originally scheduled to cruise on her first sailing until RCI moved it up. The January date worked better for us. It will be interesting to read your comments on the ship.

I wonder if the washers and dryers are for passenger use? Usually RCL does not have these vs other lines. On a 10+ day cruise they are very handy and well used. I think I'd rather wash my clothes instead of having to pack more bags and then pay for them on the airline.
What are your thoughts? Wash ot not??

I'd rather wash. What I do is bring enough clothes for each day and one extra. I hardly ever use the laundry machines only if I spill food or somthing on all of them would I use them. To me they are unnessecary.

Thanks for pointing out the error. It's been corrected. I believe this will be Celebrity Equinox first US cruise, a 5-night Western Caribbean.

Assuming the Oasis of the Seas is delivered on time and arrives in Ft Lauderdale sometime around the 19th or 20th of November. She reportedly has TA events on 11/20 and 11/22 cruises to No-Where. According to the schedule she has a 4-night cruise 12/1 before her Inaugural 12/5.

What is she doing between 11/24 and 12/1?

On another note:
I looked at the Flicker pics and looked at the Loft picture. I have a client booked in a CL on Deck 17.

The deck plans show dividers on deck 17 but not on 18. The pictures on flicker seem to support the deck plan that the 'balconies' on Deck 18 are rather a walkway around without any dividers.

Anybody has any info on that? Ackerbuilder maybe?

The lofts are two levels and there are no exits on the second level (deck 18) of the loft. The "front door" to the loft and the balcony are all on Deck 17. If you look at the layout of the lofts, you will see the living area has a two story height open space with no access outside from the second level. There is a balcony on the lower level on Deck 17. There are no balconies and no walkway on Deck 18. Just windows that look out from the upper level of the loft.

LOL.
Yeah, I figured that out thus editing my post. You are wayyyy to fast.

Initially I was confused with the window covering below the lofts I thought that was Deck 17 (which I then figured was the WJ). And of course the deck plans gave it away - the loft numbers of course are the same on deck 17 and 18. Duh me.

Thanks for your quick response though.
