Delivery took place 17 april 2008 at 11.00 hours in viking cown "Olive Or Twist". Flags exhanged and IOTS became officialy property of RCCL.
Ship left Turku at 16.00 hours same day and took course tru Turku archipelago to Oslo.
Workers of the ship yard look at ship departure with mixed feelings, some was happy to get rid of long and hard project, others was a little sad to say goobye another great achievement!
I hope u people follow the ship and posts some fotos of her on the way to Southampton.

I think start of Genesis project forced the yard divide oneself. We had a IOTS to finish and genesis to start and clearly not enouhg human resources for both. So wen needed to strech out and specultions about new owners of the yard and financial problems of the company did not make our life easyer, but now the worst is behind!And summer at the door allso here in finland!Have a great summe ouy all!

Elsewhere there are plenty of aspects with a fresh twist; I particularly like the look of the decor in Boleros.
Not sure I fancy dining in the King Lear restaurant, though. It will bring back memories of the sight of Sir Ian McKellen on stage in London in December, flashing his meat and two veg.

No idea, but when Commodore Warwick took the QM2 under the 'Verrazano-Narrows Bridge' in the Hudson, on the ships maiden call to NY, he said "I can only get this wrong once"
I believe the clearance in that case was 3 meters, but if you can get up early enough to stand on deck in the very early hours of the morning, it looks more like three inches!

Yes rock-climbing wal was redesigned for the Freedom class its slightly higher and have a pillar on the midle of it. Voyager wall was diferent, but FOTS, LOTS and IOTS having the same wall. Genesis wil have another design walls! Ups!

Yes, it's a different design on the Freedom Class. It actually has more height as the base of the wall is a deck lower compared to the Voyager Class. Also, it's separated from the back of the funnel so it's more 3-dimensional with more climbing stations. You can climb on various sides of it.

I'm sure Genesis will have a flo-rider. Who knows, maybe even two. I think Genesis will offer every feature the Freedom Class does and then some.

Malcolm,That video does not show a flo-rider on Genesis. The opening of the video showcases all the past innovations on previous Royal Caribbean ships, but it doesn't mean they will all be on Genesis. I'm 99.9% sure Genesis will feature at least one (maybe more) flo-riders, but we don't know this for certain yet.
