Carlos - Is the SONG OF NORWAY in that illustration pre- or post-stretch?

Carlos, how on earth did you scale them both?

I'd like to see what Voyager and Freedom look like in comparison.

Song of Norway is post strecht, it is not exact since I didn't have an elevation of the ship, and I believe the lenght of SON was about 640 ft after the strecht? Malcom, when I get some time I'll make a Freedom/Voyager and Freedom/Genesis comparison, I did this one for one of my classes. I scaled them using the rulers in photoshop.

It would be interesting to see a comparison of a pre-stretch SONG OF NORWAY with Genesis.

Or better yet, how about this :
SONG OF NORWAY (pre-stretch)
SONG OF NORWAY (post-stretch)
SONG OF AMERICA
SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS
VOYAGER OF THE SEAS
FREEDOM OF THE SEAS
Genesis

Here's a more updated version, better quality. I'll get into more Genesis Comparisons and drawings soon for the Genesis only Web-site I'm trying to create, for now, I have to get back to school work.

So much of the extra tonnage is not visable from a side on view as she is much wider, you would have to compare head on.

Interesting that when Cunard/Carnival was building QM2 the press machine was in full swing, even now with QV hardly a week goes by without some trivia being pushed out to excite interest. Here we have a major milestone in ship building history and the potential to really get some press and interest and you hear almost nothing, come RCI give us some info.

That is what I was thinking. When they said 40% bigger I kind of figured that it would be all around not just in length.

I am getting itchy.......... Aker, any current pic on the progress of Genesis?

I understand why this and other projects are kept so secret. While Genesis is being built, she is also being designed, so there are many things subject to change. Competition is also a matter, we just have to wait a little, 2009 is not so far away.

This is not an adequate comparison. Queen Victoria is presently in a much more advanced stage than the first Genesis ship. Giving how early it is Genesis actually gets already quite some attention. I am sure this will increase heftily as soon as the press campaign starts and I am also sure that Genesis will get more attention by the general public than Queen Victoria.

This thread is already five pages long and who know how many pages it will be if I let it run until the ship is finished. Therefore, I am closing it and ask that you continue the conversation in a new thread.

AKer builder, thank you again for the information and we are all looking forward to your next post.
