Contrary to my expectations Zenith looks superb in Pullmantur livery and I would even go so far as to say that she looks better than in Celebrity livery. See here.

She does look good. I guess I still like her in Celebrity colors. It sill see the X under the new logo. I will miss her and the Horizon, they were two lovely ships that I had great memories on.

She looks just ok IMO. Luckily ZENITH is a pretty decent looking ship to begin with. I much prefer the Celebrity logo and colors on her.

I will probably never like any ship in Pullmantur colors as I hate the lettering on the side of the ship. The logo is average and you can still see the "X" behind the Pullmantur logo.

At least Pullmantur has updated the font they are using for the hull lettering. It's more modern and looks better than what they were using before, which isn't saying much.

I'm with you Ernie, those big bold red letters spoil the ship's appearance.

Yes, it's totally true; I think the ship would have been far better if the red letters won't be in big on this hull. Anyway, it's a very nice ship, like her sistership, in my opinion better than Mercury/Galaxy.

Cheers

I'm ignoring the lettering, I do not like this on any hull. I like her all in white, and like the Pullmantur logo. She looks better than Island Star, who has more of that X showing with the funnel being white, and also has the website along the side

I love the Celebrity livery, the Pullmantur one looks cheap and cheesy.

It's very subjective, but I don't like big logos and I don't really like all white hulls.

I hate how they didn't take any time at all to consider the options of the Pulmantur logo, and just went right over the X which is clearly stull visible, they should have worked with the X and maybe put the logo aside but not directly over it.

The only way one can get rid of the X is to remove/replace the funnel structure altogether or completely cover it. This is a problem and perhaps why they should maybe think twice regarding the X worked into the sides of Solstice. If anything is cheesy Carlos, that is; imo anyway

I think she looks sweet. Like Oceanic II looks so much better in Pullmantur livery than P&O and that stuff as Mona Lisa.

I think that is a reason the Celebrity newbuilds may not have such a prominent 'X' on their funnels. It is easier to transfer a ship w/out a company logo to another division or line. As it is, it can pass as some sort of structural support.

Just a question: Does Zenith retain her name with Pulmantur or will she change to another name?

she's ugly to my opinion
the pullmantour logo painted on her hull's side
makes her to be looked like a cheap chartered ship...or a ferry....

I was there for the birth of Zenith...I boarded the ship from the shipyard, over to Southampton and the across the Atlantic (ten days to cross the Atlantic). Captain wanted to break-in the engines slowly. I have some fond memories of Zenith, and was very impressed with her interiors. Celebrity was very detail oriented and expected perfection as did the Captian. I recall standing at attention as the Captain inspected the Cruise Staff as we stood in a straight line. Captain was very strict regarding boat drill which I respected, however, one day unexpectedly we had a special life raft training session on deck and it was VERY COLD...there was even snow on the deck. Few of us were prepared or had clothing for cold weather, but the Captain made us stand there for at least two hours before he finally came down and conducted the training and another inspection.

I was not however, impressed with the design of the Zenith's bow which was big, and nearly flat at the stem. When we were in rough weather, the bow slammed into the waves HARD and the Zenith would shutter. The engines were hardly noticeable at all...very smooth and very quiet. Of course when brand new she was spotless.

I don't like the ship in all white, she just looks odd with her angular design.

I think she would look better with a red stripe from bow to stern to break up the all white like this....

Thanks for the interior pics. I like what I see. The interior is very bright and cheery and the pool deck is spacious and uncluttered. The cabins are in desperate need of art work, especially the inside which is pretty bare. Maybe that is yet to come?

Thank for the pictures. Interesting that not as many balconies were added as were expected.

I did note one change in the bathrooms... they shrunk the showers!

I find all the little criticisms of the new Zenith,s appearance rather amusing. What goes on onboard is much more important to me. If my experience on board Pullmantur's Holiday Dream is anything to go by, you'll experience a nicely maintained ship, good food, great service, lively late night entertainment befitting a Spanish ship, and last but not least all your booze included in the price.
In my estimation this line is RCCL's best kept secret.

You'll find, on this board especially, aethestics of a ship are taken very seriously. Although they have little to do with how much fun you are going to have on your cruise, it is often a heated topic of discussion, even to the point before the first steel of a newbuilds keel is laid.

These discussions often remind me of the liners list debates over how many rivets are in the Queen Mary's hull or the shade of the linoleum used in the stairwells of the Cristoforo Colombo.

Last I checked, this board was called "Cruise Talk". That means that yes, we talk about how different ships look in different liveries. For anyone that has a passion for ships like I do, ship atheistic play a big role in the overall appeal of a vessel. Does this mean I won't sail on a ship that is not aesthetically appealing? Of course not. None the less there is nothing wrong with discussing a ship's appearance on a message board dedicated to cruise talk. Believe me, in general I think ship enthusiasts are more tame compared to auto or airplane enthusiasts. They dissect every aspect of every new automobile and airplane and are much more ruthless.

This sure as hell beats debating about what time the midnight buffet is or how much to tip!
