Hi all,

We finally have a ship back here in Taiwan!

I am very happy to report that Star Cruises has announced that they will deploy the SuperStar LIBRA to Keelung, Taiwan, from end June until late November of this year. Libra will offer cruises to Naha and Ishigaki Japan, High Seas cruises, and a new destination, Punghu Island in Taiwan.

SuperStar Libra will be the biggest cruise ship to ever be homeported in Taiwan. I know the locals will really like this ship, as will all the expats living in Taiwan.

Will keep you all updated as to itineraries and sailings dates when they become available.

Regards,
Mike

Libra did indeed go to dry-dock in Singapore before she entered service in the Indian market. Libra will also go to dry-dock before entering Taiwan service.

This link http://www.starcruises.com.tw/libra/entertainment.htm

will take you to some small thumb nail photos of Libra.

Libra will give up india market? i heard Libra didn't do well in India.

With Libra in Taiwan, SS Aquarius in HKG, how about fate of Star Pisces in HKG? or both SS Aquarius and Star Pisces cater HKG market?

Definitely Star Cruise is dominate Asia.

With Star Cruise + Stanley Ho joint venture casino project in Macau. Star Cruise + Universal Studio casino project in Singapore.

Star Cruise will be profitable very soon and be World's 1 .

It is important for Star Cruise to expand to Vietnam's destination such as HCM, Ngah Trang, Halong.

Hong Kong -Singapore route depends heavily on middle destinations such as Koh Samui, Vietnam, Sanya.

Will Star cruise's >320m length ship in Asia ?

It depends heavily on the success of Singapore Casino Mega project.

Star Pisces will sail daily day cruises (i.e. departing in the morning to nowhere and returning in evening) when Aquarius arrives, and overnight cruises when Aquarius sails destination cruises.

It seems like Star Cruises is not going to be returning to the Meds this summer either. They didn't do so well either huh?

Great to see Taiwan has a ship homeported there. In regards to the HK market, if STAR PISCES will be operating daily cruises, whats going to happen to the WASA QUEEN?

Wasa Queen? Possibly a sale. Or she can sail daily overnight cruises alongside Aquarius to cater to those members who don't want to pay the "high cost (points)" to sail Aquarius.

I just heard from a guy who has sailed Libra in Med. On his cruise there were only 300 passengers, yet an evidence that Libra is not doing well in the Med.

Anything but overnight please!

I really hope Star Cruises change their mind and let the SUPERSTAR AQUARIUS do destination cruises. Doesn't have to be like SUPERSTAR LEO's...just 3,4 nights will be good.

I hoped to see the LIBRA in Rhodes during my summer holiday 2007 ... and found her 2007 cruises on http://www.starcruises.com/ce/Itineraries/Mediterranean/index.html in the bottom part, following the 2006 dates. So these cruises are not longer actual?

Frankly I'm not surprised that the SuperStar Libra wasn't successfull in the Mediterranean.

Her cruises for the summer season 2006 were marketed even in italy, with various combinations sailing from Venice and/or Civitavecchia.

I believe that the prices were too high. Only the lowest categories of cabins (inside ones) were reasonably priced.

I believe that if Star Cruises is seriously interested to offer cruises in the Mediterranean, they should deploy the SuperStar Acquarius in this area.

Frankly I don't like the idea to have this wonderful ship deployed on overnight cruises to nowhere just for gambling purposes.
