Unbelievable that this could happen, and even more incredible that some fools actually did this.

I would almost say they should had filled the ballast tanks to flush these idiots away.

Today we can see pictures of a man walking on QM2 bulb. The heading of the news article is "Look at dad!" A father went on the bulb with his wife and children sitting in a small boat next to it, just minutes before the queen started her engines and went towards Ålesund.

This is even more foolhardy.
Boys of 10/13 years could be said not to understand really how dangerous it is - they aren't really responsible.
But a family father, taking his wifes and kids....
Curious if Geirangerfjord will see QM2 again ...

Still, the ships stirs the emotions and the hearts (if not minds...) of the people all over.

Sorry to bring these topics up after a week but I havent had a chance to read them

I was not aware that we were making such speed - certainly did not appaer fast when aboard QM2 in the fjord. She makes this delightful cut through the water when traveling at medium speed which causes these two 'wakelets' on each side of the ship that spread out for miles. There will be plenty of pics of the ship in South Queensferry (UK), Norway, Germany and Rotterdam when I return home next week. All in all, a dream holiday.

BTW: the fastest speed was between Rotterdam and Southampton where we made just over 30 knots. The Cruise Dierctor told us at the show that night that it is the ''only ship that can manage that'' - i did not correct him.
