There is one in Amsterdam although calling it a ship maybe gilding the lily somewhat.

In Antwerp the old Hurtigruten "Hakon Jarl" served as a hotel/restaurant ship, but is now only a restaurant/party ship I think.

Is "Oriana" still used as an hotel ship ?

On "Maritime Matters" I read about the "Ancerville" a former french "Paquet " liner which was used as an hotel ship in China, and which is now literally completley landlocked, with the new land stretching to the hull...

The "Santa Paula" of US Grace Line ended her life as she was bombed in the 1990 Gulf War as the "Kuwait Mariott Hotel".

There is also the Sunbourn Yacht Hotel, a modern cruise ship built without engines - she is like a Seabourn vessel and is moored in London's docklands.

Yes. She sat there burnt out for some years, but was then taken apart. Nothing was apparently worth saving and the area is now a car park. [She went downscale from Marriott, to Ramada & then another but I can't recall the name offhand].
Sad, she had a lovely restaurant aboard, and her decks retained that rope/sea smell of older ships.

There is also the "Georg Büchner" (ex-CMB-Charlesville) in Rostock (northern Germany).

This ship is used as an hotel, seminar- and conference center, and a youth hostel.

According to the information a double hotelroom is 50 EUR / night.

Lydia built in 1931 as the Moonta now used as a recreation center in France, interesting she was not docked but beached for this role !

She almost looks like a smaller MV Britannic or RMS Titanic.

Hello,

There is sometalk on ssMaritime of current negotions to convert the Princesa Victoria into a hotel ship. Presently she is owned by Bangladeshi breakers, but they are willing to sell her for $5,000,000 (US). I have seen many of these plans started and aborted before.

Has anyone heard anything about this?

Sunborn Princess was built at Kvaerner Warnow Werft GmbH / Rostock / Germany. I can only guess that the Sunborn yacht was too?

The old threads are here and here. AJL's link seems to have gone

P.S.: Congratulations to the marketing people who selected this name. For future competitors only Sunburn is left now.
