I have noticed a gradual change from 1998 to now.

The early millenial cruises had a bit of ballroom dancing which was well attended. The Rembrandt cruise to new England both the Ambassador Lounge and Queens Lounge filled. Except for Cunard it becomes less and less popular as the decade moves on. On my Regatta crossing there was little offered and few participated.

Disco is timeless, only the songs get updated.

My last cruise on the Galaxy the '50's sockhop was standing room only. Many of those dancing were teens in the 1950's and as septugenarians still did it with grace and style

Is the ballroom dancing generation dying off?

What is the popular dancing style on the European ships?

Being in radio we've had a lot of dance remotes with 1940's bands. The younger kids are pretty good only it seems to be just a fad with them. Since 1989 when I started cruising I have not seen many good dancers among the passengers...then again most were 55 plus.
